Halloween and Sadie's Birthday

I am finally updating our blog. Somehow life seems to have gotten busier for me since Matt lost his job. Thankfully we bought the kids costumes before Matt was out of work. Trying to go trick-or-treating on Halloween night proved very interesting. There was about a half hour break in the rain. Matt and the kids made a mad dash for the houses. I was surprised how much candy they got for only being out that amount of time. Back at the house, we only had one person come trick-or-treating. If Halloween has a particular feel to it, this one had it.

All of our babies for their first Halloween, are pumpkins.

Caleb loves Toy Story. When he saw this Woody costume, he was sold.

Ethan has been into super hero's lately. He had a hard time deciding between Spiderman and Venom. He finally decided he wanted to be bad. So Venom it was.

Rachel is all about princesses. She had a dozen princess costumes to chose from. She chose Princess Peach.

It was a good Halloween.

Sadie had her first birthday on November 4th. It is hard to believe she is a year old already, and I am not pregnant again. This is the longest period of time since having Rachel, that I have not been pregnant. I have not been more thankful for that. I am to old for that now. Any way, daddy put her very own little cake in front of her.

She was so funny. She didn't know what to think about it.

Then she decided to pick off one of the dots.

Then she tried picking her cake up.

Yay, she finally got the hang of it.

Everyone had fun.

Happy Birthday baby girl!

Sadies first brownie and our day trip to Heber and Liberty Park

A few weeks ago Sadie, at 10 months old, had her very first taste of a brownie. She LOVED it! Silly mom forgot to take off her shirt. It was never the same.
Don't take a picture of me mom, this is serious business.
I think I can get used to this big people food.
She is leading up to her cheesey smile.....
And there it is. She does it ALL the time. It makes me laugh so hard. I love her!

One Saturday, in mid September, we decided to go up to Park City and see the fall colors. We never did that. Instead we stopped in Heber at the Dairy Keen (also know to my kids as the train restaurant.) for lunch. They are sitting at the caboose table.
Then they wanted to "drive" the train.
Look at these two cute girls with the same missing tooth smile.
 So much fun.

Then we drove into Salt Lake and went to Liberty Park. They got to ride some rides and have a snow cone. Here are some of the rides they chose to go on.
Ethan and Caleb wanted to ride in the airplanes.
Then the boys wanted to ride in the cars. Ethan loved this batman one.
You can't tell from this picture but Caleb loved this ride. He cried when it stopped.

The girls wanted to go on the ferriswheel.
They felt so big being able to ride it by themselves.
I love the look on Rachel's face and how Bethany looks back as it starts to move.

The guy operating the ride was nice. Rachel and Bethany were the only ones on the ride, so the guy operating it asked if they wanted to stop at the very top. Of course they both shouted, yes!

Then their second pick was this swing. I think they both were a little "green" when they got off. They seemed to be having fun on it though.
Its was just starting to move.
They would screech and laugh as they went by.
Rachel though it would be funny to reach out and grab Bethany's shoe.
All in all it was a fun day, and we had tired kids to boot.

Ethan's First Day of Preschool

Ethan was very excited as well as a little nervous to start preschool. He already knew Miss Mari from when Rachel had her. He tends to be shy and it takes him a while to warm up to people. I'm hoping since he already knows her it won't take long for him to really enjoy school. He goes Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am- 11:30 am. When I picked him up from his first day, I asked him if he had fun. He tucked his chin under and said no. So I asked him why. He said it was because he didn't think recess was long enough. That made me laugh!

Miss Mari asked Ethan to find his name. He doesn't know What his name even starts with. Every time I try and work with him at home, he has no interest in paying attention. Being the great teacher that she is she didn't just show him. She wrote out the first two letters so that he would have to find it on his own, with this visual help.

Every morning as they come into class they have a question they have to answer. I am so glad he chose to put his name under the yes column.

He is ready to start! I can't believe I have two in school now. Crazy how fast time flies by and our babies grow up! Have fun my son!

Rachel's first day of school

Rachel was so excited about starting first grade! A few weeks before school started she was nervous because she said she couldn't remember what her kindergarten teacher had taught her. She was also afraid her first grade teacher was going to be mean. When we went in to meat her teacher we learned that her teachers name is also Rachel. That made Rachel smile, and to also see that her teacher was nice, put her as ease.

My beautiful little girl is now a  FIRST GRADER!

She feels so big having her very own desk.

Ooops! I'm getting into trouble for taking to many pictures.
Have fun in first grade Rachel.

Matt's work party and last days of summer

On August 14th We went to the zoo for Matt's work party. It was nice to walk around and not be pregnant this year! Caleb was too little to remember going last year. It was funny to watch him point at all the animals and jabber away.  When we saw the tigers we realized he was sitting in the stroller meowing at them. It was so stinking cute!  When the company BBQ was over we took the kids to have their faces painted. I decided to have Caleb done as a tiger since that seemed to be his favorite animal there. The line was very long and Ethan fell asleep in the stroller while we waited, so needless to say his face didn't get done. He wasn't that struck on the idea anyway.

Rachel decided she wanted to have a rainbow butterfly done over her eye. She was so excited that they put glitter all over it to make it sparkle. You can't see the glitter in this picture but it is there.

Rachel and Bethany having fun playing in our tunnels on one of the last days of summer vacation. They were coloring and reading books inside and being silly. I was upstairs folding laundry and all I could hear was these two just giggling and giggling! It was so contagious and made me feel so good that I couldn't help but chuckle to myself! They are such good friends.

My two cute girls! Yes, I could steel Bethany. She fits in nicely. So much so that if she is with me and I take them all to the store, I've been stopped and told by a few people what a cute family I have. I just smile and say thank you!

The kids wanted to have their faces drawn on with the dry erase markers. Ethan didn't want me to do his face. He did his own and then told me he was Wolverine from X-men.

I never claimed to be an artist! But they seemed to love it.

for some reason none of the pictures of Rachel turned out. This was the only one that wasn't to blurry to put on here.

Happy graffiti-ed kids!

Rachel's 6th and Caleb's 2nd birthday party

Rachel and her friend Abby. They just got done playing on the slip and slide and having hot dogs and watermelon when they were called in for presents and cake and ice cream. We couldn't get a picture with Abby hugging Rachel without her thumb in her mouth.

Rachel opening the pillow pet she got from Grandma! She was so excited that she got the one she really wanted. How are Grandma's so magic?!

She got the barbie and the mermaid tale that was on her list.

The first present Caleb opened was a ball from Nanny and Paka ( Grandpa). He didn't put it down for the rest of the evening!

He couldn't believe his luck in getting a pillow pet too.
That was almost worthy of putting his ball down.

Little watermelon face and tummy, still with his ball, and new broom broom!

Sadie and Nanny. Mom would blow the noise maker then put it up to Sadie's mouth, she would grab it and mimic the same noise. It was too CUTE! She thought she was a clever girl.

Rachel and her cake. I usually turn the cakes out, but this time I was lazy and left them in the pan. My ankle hurt too much to take the extra time. Nobody seemed to care, thank goodness.

Blowing out her candles and making a wish.

Caleb trying to figure out what to do.
( Caleb's birthday isn't until the 4th of August, but we decided to combine their birthdays together.)
